Slowly but surely...

Things are starting to happen. He definately seems to have dropped, judging by my belly and new aches and pains. Contractions do come, although they really need to get serious. My face is back to normal. Every thing is ready ready ready. Sorry about the long silence, I will leave a post when i'm in labor so you don't have to wonder.

Hideous

My face still looks terrible. I don't even want to go into labor looking like this.

The Fun Never Ends

What could possibly be more fun than being overdue? How about getting stung in the face and pinky by a wasp? And how about your eye swelling to the point you can barely see?

Still Here...

In case you wondering. Appreciating the cooler weather. The phone calls are starting. I still remember when I was a few days overdue with Elijah, my dad called. I was like "Dad, your my dad, i'm gonna call you when I have the baby!"

Ho Hum

Today is my "official" due date, which of course doesn't really mean a whole lot does it? I just keep telling myself that after all these months of waiting whats a bit more? On Saturday, I finally dug out the carseat and the baby swing to wash and get ready. I even packed my hospital bag. I still have to set up the basinette in our bedroom. If this was our first baby this stuff would of been done about 10 weeks ago :D

Waiting I can deal with, this heat however, is much harder to live with. Last night I went to sleep in a very warm house feeling quite miserable, than woke up in a much cooler house feeling signficantly better. Its supposed to be hot and humid again today.

Its 5:00 a.m. and...

  • I'm wide awake.
  • NOT in labor.
  • Reading the Meijer sale ads.
  • Listening to my neighor kick somebody out of her house.
  • Debating whether I want to go to church or not. I don't really feel up to all the "whens that baby coming?", specially on 4 hours of sleep.
  • Otherwise, i'm feeling pretty good.

The Universe is Telling Me to Shop!

I must be destined to go shopping. First of all, its time to redeem my Gymbucks. I earned these several months ago, for the next ten days I can spend $50 and get $25 off at Gymboree. Than in the mail today I got coupons for Osh Kosh and The Children's Place! How can I go against a force like this? LOL

The Waiting Game

My doctor told me this morning that there is nothing happening and he will probably see me next week. Keep in mind that he said the same thing with Elijah and Samuel a day or two before I went into labor with each of them. However, I just don't feel like labor is close so I guess I won't be surprised if I do see him next week. I'm okay with that, for my own sanity I always expect to go to at least my due date. I don't even have a bag packed yet.

Ultrasound

I had an ultrasound this morning to check baby's position and the amount of fluid. His position is okay, and I still have a ton of fluid. We got confirmation that its definately a boy, not that the first ultrasound wasn't clear but they couldn't confirm it at my second u/s because of the cord. His estimated weight right now is 7 pounds 1 ounce, and -get this- she says he has a lot of hair! They can actually tell that. Elijah had a lot of hair. I'm not going to post the pics because they are just not very clear this late in pregnancy. So, now we just have to wait!

Just thought I would share some artwork Isaac did today. I thought this was an interesting one. Posted by Picasa

Visitors

The last few days have brought some visitors. First my sister came for a day with her two boys. That means there were five little boys running around here. They had a good time. Drake and Elijah look so much alike, especially from the back, we were forever mixing them up.

Today my friend from college and her husband stopped by on their way home from a camping trip. They had their very cute dog, Belle, with them. Sammy did not like getting puppy kisses, every time I ask Sammy what he thought about that puppy he still points to his face where she licked him. Other than that the boys really enjoyed having a puppy here for a few hours and talked about little else after she was gone.

Did I once remember to take out my camera during either of these visits? No. *sigh*

I also forgot to mention that we got Jeremiah a cell phone for Father's Day. The pre-paid kind where you buy minutes as you need them. The cool thing about this is we can text message from the phone right to my blog, so we will be able to post a birth announcement shortly after. As for pictures, unless I teach Jeremiah how to download pics from our camera and post them you will probably have to wait until I'm home.

I was also dismayed to see that we are supposed to have very hot and humid weather till at least Sunday! I would really love for this hot weather streak to break so I can get some things done. Right now I pretty much hang out all day in the living room, our single air conditioned room (for which I am very grateful!).

Not A Happy Camper...

Three years ago my parents bought a 3-in-1 crib for my niece. The kind that goes from a crib, to a toddler bed, to a twin bed. We have been using the crib part for over two years since my niece was not using it. My parents happened to be going downstate for a wedding so I asked if they could bring the rails to make it a toddler bed. Sooooo we get the rails, and I spend all afternoon -a very hot afternoon I might add- taking apart the crib to put the toddler bed together for Sammy. Come to find out , after 2+ hours of sweating and snapping at the boys to get away and don't touch that screwdriver, that we don't have all the parts! My mom already told me that she did not have anymore parts so she hoped we already had everything. I searched and searched Graco's website for replacement parts, or even a manual, but they seem to have no recollection of ever making this crib even though it says GRACO on it. So I just ended up putting the whole thing away. Sammy has been sleeping in our pack-n-play for a few months since he learned to get out ( by falling) of the crib. However, we need to use the pack-n-play for the baby as it can also be a basinette. So, now what? Get Sammy a new toddler bed? Or buy some bed rails for the double bed in his room and let him sleep in that? It seems like such a waste to not be able to use a perfectly good toddler bed because we are missing 4 thingees.

The Status Of...

My Pregnancy - Good. Blood pressure fine, weight actually went down this week. Baby is still head first (Samuel and Elijah both kept us guessing there). Slightly anemic, taking extra iron.

The Boy's Room - Finished!! Fresh paint, new carpet, little dents in the wall - from repeated banging of matchbox airplanes- fixed.

The Boy's Hair - Cut! Needed to use popsicles as a bribe, and I miss Sammy's fuzzy hair but they all look nice and handsome.

Homeschool Curriculm - Chosen, but not yet ordered. We decided to use Christian Liberty Academy. This was our first choice, than we decided to check out some other options, than came back to our first choice. I still can't believe we are officially starting Isaac's schooling this Fall!

My New Flowers - Not good. I think one plant is just plain dead, and a couple are on the brink but may be saved. Although my rasberry plant actually has rasberries on it that are almost ripe.

Jeremiah - Working like a dog. Seriously, I think it will be a 14 day stretch without one day off. Its possible he might not get a day off till the baby is born! The jail is overcrowded and understaffed at the moment. I will admit the paychecks are very nice though.

I brought the boys to a "Patriot Party" at the library this morning. Isaac and Elijah made some patriotic shakers to shake at parades. Posted by Picasa
