2008

Good things about 2008: a new niece and nephew, our trip to Tennessee, learning to smock, my new sewing machine, the Twilight series (and friends to talk about it with!),camping at the family reunion, getting more involved in our homeschool group, one more child is potty trained.

One interesting (and GOOD) thing about 2008 for me, it's the first year in 12 years that I have not suffered at least one migraine. Of course, there still 13 hours of 2008 to go, so *knock on wood*.

Bad things about 2008: paying over $4 for gas, there is no president-elect Paul, virtually everything about the economy, virtually everything the gov't is doing to handle the economy.

I haven't decided yet if, for 2009, I'm going to resolve to a.) blog more often or b.)not feel guilty for letting a week go by without blogging.

Christmas Hats

I found these hats at w@lmart for one dollar each, and then used my sewing machine to make them into something a little more special. Of course, Jonah didn't want to put his hat on. Of course not, because that might mean a really nice picture of all five together and that can't happen!

I can't believe it's the 22nd already! I've been really busy, but a good busy, not a frantic busy.

Couldn't Resist

Sadie got a baby doll for her birthday. She likes it and plays with it a lot and I told myself that one doll was all she needed.

Until.

I saw the 25th Anniversary Cabbage Patch Preemies at T@rget. I still remember how excited I was to get my own Cabbage Patch Preemie when I was little. My aunt sent three up, for me and two of my sisters. We were so excited before they were even opened because, even wrapped, the boxes had the distinct shape of a Cabbage Patch doll. Mine was named Lucille, and I called her lucy. She had the same outfit that Sadie's has on, only green. I played with her until I was too old for dolls.

How could I not get one for Sadie? Plus, they were on clearance.

Nine

Isaac turned nine today. That means next year I am going to have a 10 year old!

One thing I remember from this past year was when Isaac came up to us at the family reunion and told us that he made up a song called "think before you do it". To this day he has not sung it for us though.

Happy Birthday, Little Bear!

Christmas Princess

Today we took our Christmas card picture. While I was waiting for the older boys to come in from outside, I took some pictures of Sadie and Jonah. My cousin sent this dress over a year ago and I have been anxiously awaiting the Holidays this year so she can wear it! Also, remember the tree was decorated by the boys. I was tempted to fix it for the picture, but I didn't.

Vacation Recap

We had a great time in the U.P for Thanksgiving. I saw my older brother for the first time in five years! I got to meet a new niece and a new nephew for the first time. We managed to get all 13 of the grandchildren on Jeremiah's side together for the second year in a row. They had a great time together. Somehow they all managed to socialize and play together even though all of them are (or will be) homeschooled. Go figure.

Today, the boys managed to pull the Christmas tree out and drag it upstairs. Not an easy task. They decorated it all by themselves and I'm not changing a thing. They also decorated some Christmas cookies today.
