Vacation Recap

We had a great time in the U.P for Thanksgiving. I saw my older brother for the first time in five years! I got to meet a new niece and a new nephew for the first time. We managed to get all 13 of the grandchildren on Jeremiah's side together for the second year in a row. They had a great time together. Somehow they all managed to socialize and play together even though all of them are (or will be) homeschooled. Go figure.

Today, the boys managed to pull the Christmas tree out and drag it upstairs. Not an easy task. They decorated it all by themselves and I'm not changing a thing. They also decorated some Christmas cookies today.

Hmm, how DID they socialize? That must have been hard for them, you know with not having those skills because of being homeschooled! HA! It is so retarted when people think that about homeschoolers!

Glad you had a great time for Thanksgiving, we did to. My kids decorated our tree too and I LOVE it!

"managed to socialie...." lol. We currently don't plan to homeschool. BUT I find myself defending this whole "but they won't learn how to socialize" crap all the time. The absolute worst place for me to "socialize" when I was little was in school. Elementary was a nightmare when it came to "fitting in". I would much rather my kids concentrate on schoolwork during "school time" there is plenty of other times to learn "socilization".
Daniel decorated my Snoopy tree and I left it as it is too:-)
What great boys you have!

Love the tree! They did a great job. I can't believe you managed to get such a great picture of so many little ones! I have a hard time getting my 5 together for a shot. I got NONE at Thanksgiving. I think it's because of Brennen's accident though....he was in a foul mood. We are going in for a family portrait tonight. I can't wait! That's the only thing I want for Christmas. We've NEVER done a 7 person family portrait yet! Wish Melissa lived closer.....

I STILL have to put my pictures up on the computer! It was amazing that we all managed to get together again (minus Adam). We sure had a good time!

What a great poem below!

I so love a whole bunch of kids together! Love your 'socialising' comment!!! It's all I'm hearing from people as I share with them what I'm doing...

They did a good job with the tree by the looks; I left it to my boys, 'cept for the star on top - I think they look great with the kids input.
