What Does It Mean...

What does it mean when you start looking up vintage 50's dress patterns, try talking your boys into learning the guitar, and your 2 year old can sing Johnny Cash duets with you?

It means your mother-in-law let you borrow the movie Walk The Line.

I love this movie! I play it not so much to watch but more for the music. And the dresses, I love the dresses that Reese Witherspoon wears in it. Oh, and Joaquin Phoenix doesn't exactly do a bad job either.

I thought you were going to say it means you have are a home school mom or have an interesting home school life, at the least. :-P

I agree, Amie, it is a great movie, but the soundtrack is exceptional! Johnny Cash sure new how to hum a tune, and both Joaquim & Reese were fantastic in their roles in the movie. My boys love the music too, and I love it when we're all casually singing as we're hanging around the house, whether we're in different rooms or together, and even my two year old belts out the odd line or hums away. Too precious! Naomi

Sounds fun! I loved that movie too, and now you've reminded me that I wanted to check the soundtrack out from the library (and fortunately, they have it in so I can get it on the way home!).

I love that movie too!

When Elizabeth would cry all night we had all kinds of little tunes to sing to her set to that soundtrack.

A follow-up to my previous comment... I stopped at the library by my apartment on the way home from work, and the Walk the Line soundtrack that had been available earlier in the afternoon had been checked out in the meantime! What are the odds?! I thought that was so funny.

I liked the movie a whole lot, too. And let's face it, Joaquin is pretty nice to look at for a few hours.

Amie, I think the soundtrack is perfect for girls like us (guess I'm assuming a bit about you, but I'm imagining since you appreciate and enjoy the songs, that you love to sing) because we get to hear all the songs without seeing the parts of the movie which are quite heartbreaking in places; and so we then protect our boys from those scenes which would invariably have them raise questions we just don't need to answer for them for a good few years... Didn't you just want to pluck the young Johnny Cash out from the movie and hold him close, oh, and when he was older... My goodness, what a good film does to your emotions...!!!
