Sadie's Easter Dress

Here it is! Normally, I would only post this on my sewing blog ,but since I've talked of nothing else lately, I thought I would post here. I kept the stitches simple with cable stitches and wave stitches. I can't wait to start something new so I can use some different stitches. It's definitely not perfect, but considering it's was my first time smocking and I learned from a book, I'm pretty happy with it! Happy enough to let my daughter wear it on her first Easter, and if you know me you know that's a big deal :)

The blue dot is from the camera, not the dress.

I remember your post one Easter about not having a dress to make for Easter. I am so thrilled you have one now!

Can you make Elizabeth one? I'd pay you.

Wow, it looks beautiful! And Sadie looks adorable in it! Her face resembles Jonah in that picture, I think.

Good job! I'm glad you like smocking. I don't know if you remember that your grandmother sent you and your sisters smocked Polly Flinders dresses for Easter from Florida. I was with her and helped her pick them out -- she enjoyed doing that so much.

Wow!

I am so impressed with how the smocking came out. You are one talented woman.

And your little girl is even lovelier than the dress. That smile is so big and bright--a ray of sunshine on this cloudy day!
