Where to Start...

Has it only been two days since we closed? It has been a loooong two days. We are all moved, but not even approaching unpacked. Our neighborhood is wonderful! One family across the street has three boys six and under, how cool is that? Both neighbors across the street gave us permission to use their yards to get to the state land behind that has miles and miles of trails. Also, we found out the lake that we are next to DOES have a swimming area (ab0ut a five minute walk ). We thought there was only a boat access.

Now the hard part is stairs. We've never had them before and they are too wide for an ordinary baby gate. Also, i'm used to sleeping in a bedroom next to the boys room, its weird sleeping so far from them at night.

Another issue here is the mosquitos! They are many...and big! We already talked to a neighbor who collects money from familys who want their yard sprayed. They say it works and sellers left us a note that says it works also.

On another note, Tanya had her baby girl this morning! She is beautiful and she came on the day I guessed! :D

Yipee! So glad you are all moved in! The unpacking will come with time! I am sure you will get used to stairs and not being near the boys, but I totally know what you mean. Congratulations! Sounds like you have wonderful neighbors! I'm so glad you guys found such a great home! By the way, are you able to come up to the U.P. when we'll be up there? We'll be there June 10-23 or something like that. I hope you can make it up!

I was hoping you were all moved in and getting settled. Each new place has its own joys and differences from what we're used to, I think. I hope everything is going smoothly and you feel more relaxed and at-home every day. Congratulations on your new house!!

Congrats! It sounds like a wonderful neighborhood. I'm sure as the boys get a bit older, you'll be enjoying the extra distance between their rooms and yours! LOL

Congratulations on your new home Amie! It sounds wonderful. How great is it to have a good old fashioned swimmin' hole just down the road? I don't envy all the unpacking you have to do, but give yourself time. Moving is a great time to clear out all the clutter and start fresh. I hope you are all settled soon.

Congrats! The unpacking part stinks but you'll get it done, I know. It sounds like a great neighborhood for your whole family! (aside from the bugs, that is)

Wow. It sounds like a fantastic place for the boys to grow up. And WONDERFUl that your neighbor has young boys, too.
I'm thinking of you as you unpack and get used to the new home.

I wrote an article on my site, MotherPie, last week on Dandelions... the milky white stuff is supposed to be good for repelling mosquitoes. I have not tried it. But if you do and it works, let me know. A nice way to go eco, imo.
Cheers...
