A Month from Today

We figured out our plan today at my doctor's appointment. Right now, everything looks good besides my blood pressure. As long as lying down controls my blood pressure up until May 16th, I will be having a c-section on that day. That also depends on everything else staying fine, as in no protein in urine or other symptoms and an ultrasound next week shows she is growing fine. Really, my only issue right now is very high blood pressure, which unfortunately is not good for a baby even when everything else looks good. I feel good having a plan, but at the same time a whole month of bedrest ahead feels very loooong.

Then there is the issue of a scheduled c-section. Not something I ever imagined doing, but when you combine certain factors from my present situation and previous deliveries, it seems the best thing to do. I have a month to come to terms with a section....and a month to freak out about it too.

well to tell you the truth, I think May 25th would be a much better day to have your c-section!!! lol ;) Lots of May babies in the Mleko family, just in our immediate family there is 5!! Like you said though, at least you have a plan, and now you can have time to relax and think and you don't have to worry about waiting for the contractions and water breaking!!! At least you know this way the baby will be healthy and you aren't taking any risks!!! Good luck with your bedrest, and let me know when I can take over!!! lol

May is a great bday month. We have 3 May bdays out of 5 with our guys! There are worse things out there than a c section. Try not to freak out about it. I can't imagine that's good for the ol BP. Besides, it doesn't matter how she gets here as long as she's healthy and strong! Take Care of yourself and try to stay sane!

It is amazing what you can agree to in order to keep you and your precious baby girl safe!

I hope all goes well for you in the next month.

As I have said, I was on bedrest for 34 days. It was hard but definitely worth it.

My best to you and your little one!

May 16th sounds like a great day to be born! You and she will have birthdays a day apart! One of my childhood friends was born May 16 and I remember jumping on her bed when we were little and saying her full name and birthdate over and over! (That's probably why it stuck in my head forever!) Perhaps your little girl will do the same thing one day. :-)

You hang in there and take good care.

As a veteran of two C-sections I know that the second one (which was scheduled) was so much easier than the first one (which was after 40 hours of labor). I was not worn out from going through labor, and it was just a much better experience.

Just hang in there, and try to relax. I'm here for you if you want to talk.

I have had five c-section in all, they really aren't that bad, I do however have a high tolerance for pain:) I have one May baby, Natalie's is the 14th. Good luck with the bedrest, rent lots of movies, and before you know it May 16th will be here:)

I can imagine that it seems like an eternity from now to you. I couldn't imagine having to be on bedrest for that long, especially with other children around. Will your mom stay to help out the whole time? When Hannah was breeched I really thought she'd eventually turn, but I had really come to have peace about needing a c-section...moreso than them trying to turn her! So, I'm sure as time moves on the Lord will give you that peace that surpasses all understanding. We're praying for you!

I was upset when they first mentioned a scheduled C-Section to me. I didn't like the thought, and I didn't want to seem like one of "those" woman who "schedule" the birth of her child. But then a friend told me both of her children were C-Section and she much rather have them scheduled, because a C-section after labor is MUCH worse than a scheduled one. But I am sure you have thought of that anyway:-) Good luck on the bedrest, it must seem like a long way away...just think of other things that took a month and flew by. Like planning to move, or planning a wedding, or that last few months of school when things seem to go by so fast.

I hope the month goes by quickly, and I hope the c-section goes well. I'm sure it will all work out in the end. try not to worry too much about it! (easier said than done, I'm sure)

Glad you have a plan now. I know a month on bedrest feels like forever but we all know it'll be the best in the long run. I think I'd go stircrazy too!!!

When I delivered Baby Girl, they initially mentioned c-section to me. After freaking out, then my dr telling me that I didn't need it (and the nurse was a fool), I was thinking "why the hell would you tell a lady in delivery that she could need a c-section when you don't know??" Anyway, it'll be all good. Stay sane up there!

Best day for a Birthday, May 16th! I should know... I've had quite a few of them... To me it's a "pretty" looking date when you write it out, so it's perfect for your girl. As you well know from experience, babies have to be born somehow, and you just want them safe in your arms at the end of the day, so soak up the TLC, 'cause I'm sure you will get that from your loved ones. Your little pink bundle is certainly worth it! Sending up my prayers... Naomi

Amiee,
A scheduled c-section is always better than a non-schedule one. Hang in there. Besides the risks of trying to have a natural child birth when you already have high blood pressure far out way the risks of a c-section. Longer recovery but so worth it in the long run.

May 16th, I was thinking your birthday was right around there. Wonderful month for birthdays!!! You could call her Mia (kind of amiee backwards and as I typed it short for jeremiah) or Emma since may's birth stone is an emerald. HEHE.

I can't wait to meet her, (and your boys). Let me know when you want me to come and take pictures. I will email you a link of the last newborn session I did.
