Anybody Want a Beagle?

No, I'm only kidding. We would not get rid of Mary Jane. She is a much loved part of our family. Today, however, she has given me a headache. I have been reading The Preacher's Daughter trilogy by Beverly Lewis. Recently, I saw the third book in the store for $11 and was tempted to buy it because it's very hard to find her books -especially her new books- in at the library. I decided not to because even if it means waiting longer, checking it out at the library is still free. Well, it turns out there was a copy in at the library on the rental shelf (where they charge $1 for popular new books). Not free, but better than $11 right? Anyway, you probably know where this is going. Mary Jane gets her paws on it and chewed it up! Argh! Now we're going to have to pay the library $18-20 for it (it's hardcover). Had I just bought the book I would of ended up saving money! At least I can still read it.

What is it about Beagles? Yesterday, Lily (our beagle cross) chewed up my favorite pen!
Our other dog--not a beagle, has never chewed up anything except her chew toys. But Lily--in the past week she has chewed up DH's lunch box, N.'s umbrella, and she got a piece of Pizza with green chiles on it off the counter for herself!

As I told her today: It's a good thing you are sooo cute!

don't worry Amie, it's not just your dog. Midnight chewed up countless not even worn shoes, tables, blankets, and anything else so could grab. That was when I ran her two miles a day to burn energy too. Keep anything "important" up high. They seem to know what they should not touch and get it anyway. hehe.

Belle rarely chewed things up...but when she did it was more expensive things....like my glasses....A week after I got some new glasses she chewed the part that went over my right ear. I could still wear them but there was a very pointed sharp end. It didn't poke me, but it was still annoying. That was when she was really young. Later when she was a year and half. I was laid off but when I went back to work we decided to let her have the run of the house. Chad set up a webcam, and everyday at 4:30 she found something to get into. Most of the time it was MY shoes! She is fine now and we only keep Daniel's room shut.....I just have a feeling poopy diapers are way to inviting for her:-)

oh, Amie! That's terrible. My friend Kate had a beagle too (they just gave him away) and he was always a bit hyper... he ran laps around the house!

Oh no! Maybe next time you better just go ahead and buy the book in the first place;) Reason #9999999 why we don't have a dog anymore!

Kim,
I think a lot of it does have to do with the fact she is not getting her usual walks due to the weather.

Oh dear, oh dear. That just makes me feel so frustrated for you - you clearly think like I do! You're a lot sweeter, though - saying you wouldn't actually give her away. I think I'd have been tempted to put a "FREE DOG" sign on her neck and set her out on the front step...

I love the blog that you have. I was wondering if you would link my blog to yours and in return I would do the same for your blog. If you want to, my site name is American Legends and the URL is:

www.americanlegends.blogspot.com

If you want to do this just go to my blog and in one of the comments just write your blog name and the URL and I will add it to my site.

Thanks,
David

I just got that book from the library last week too! Great minds think alike, but I'm not getting my laundry done because of it - and hopefully the new dog won't chew mine up! :)
