Pleasant Surprise

Today, I started the oh-so-fun Spring sort with the boy's clothes. This involves hauling three tubs of clothes out, picking out the summer clothes to see who has what, and who needs what. Not that they will be needing summer clothes for a few months, but they will be needing short sleeves for Spring.

Sammy was all smiles when we found a Spiderman t-shirt in his size. I don't know about your house, but in our house a spidey T is the epitome of coolness (even if its a hand-me-down). Posted by Picasa

I am going to have to do the clothes sorting soon too with Zachary's old clothes for Seth. But Zachary is going to have to get all new clothes for this summer since he's the first boy. I guess we'll have to start saving some money!! lol

I've saved a fortune by boxing those clothes up and passing them down. My daughter sleeps in my older son's outgrown boxers and t-shirts. Thank God my youngest loves getting a new box of "Zach" clothes down to see what's in there. They are six years apart, so it's often a big surprise to me, too!

And yes, Spiderman shirts are always a big hit. As are basketball jerseys (we just got out a Michael Jordan Bulls jersey - from when he was playing for pete's sake...

Yep I did the old sorting thing weeks ago. The past two days we've put those clothes to good use! Gabe loves his hand-me-down Batman PJs. And yes, Spiderman saves the day in this house...if there's a clean Spiderman shirt it will be worn. I have to hide them up in the closet so he will wear other clothes:)

I remember the clothes sorting days ... with 1 girl, 3 boys, and tons of older cousins who would pass clothes down, it was quite a chore!

Pretty exciting too, though - since it meant my little people were getting bigger!

Now ... they're really big - they range from 25 through 30. *sigh* ... I'm getting old.

I dread having to sort through my own clothes, so I can't even imagine when you have to sort through everyone else's too!

My 16 year old Samuel ... still thinks Spiderman is the coolest. His brother outgrew his spiderman shirt that they got a few years ago. Samuel's is a man's large, so Samuel will probably wear out his rather than out grow it. He becomes LIVID when he see's little brother (14) trying to wear his spidey shirt.

Spiderman, is THE man ... even to teens ... I don't think the male species outgrows spidey ...

Man, you just reminded me that I gotta do that too. Gah! And nothing wrong with hand-me-downs!

I love the expression on Sammy's face. Even from the side, it looks like the perfect picture of glee!

Our 3 year old is recycling his older brother's Spidey clothes. And toys. And shoes.
